Splints & Stents:

Stents are devices constructed to cover tissue and/or teeth for their protection. Dental implant surgical guides and stents are used to position dental implants (root form) to ensure that the implant is placed in the most ideal location, angulation and depth into the bone. They are usually made out of clear acrylic and fit over your existing teeth and or pink gum tissue. Splints also work to protect grinding teeth from wearing down – prevents pain and jagged edges in the future. Splints can also help to reposition the jaw in order to realign the mouth. A dental splint is an appliance used to protect teeth and their supporting structures from damage caused by teeth grinding or teeth clenching. The dental splint is custom-fabricated using materials such as acrylic, metal, or composite resin.
