Craniofacial Syndrome:

Craniofacial surgery was originally performed in adults to treat the deformities of childhood. Success in adults allowed surgeons to start treating individuals in childhood, often with better outcomes and using less complicated procedures. Surgical intervention in early childhood obviates many of the problems that we subsequently see in untreated adults. The greater plasticity of the tissue of children allows for significant remodeling and subsequent growth not observed in adult tissues.Furthermore, procedures are frequently better tolerated in children and often have better results when done on children compared to adults.
